Talky day
Thursday’s schedule was heavy on people talking. So I went to four lectures/panels/presentations. The first was on Adult Swim, which I’ve never really watched, but I was curious because I know it’s popular. They talked a lot about how they figure out what does and doesn’t work for them. One of the Oregonian bloggers wrote a pretty comprehensive account of the presentation, so I’ll just link over...
Audrey: Still trying to catch up on Flickr and blogging. Next time I try something like this, can I have a clone to share the work? (via Twitter / Audrey)
If this is Thursday…
Yesterday I was physically tired. Today’s it’s just my brain. I have the feeling I’ll be trying to catch up for a week after this.
So, Wednesday screenings. Competition group 4 had another fabulous collection of shorts.
Une Charogne. French, no subtitles, but the CG animation is beautiful. And lifelike, which is funny because it’s about death. The text was from a poem, so translations aren’t...
Audrey: The animated installations last night were really amazing. I’m sad that some of the best ones were one night only. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Deciding I can wait until 11:30 to be at the festival today. There’s been so little downtime. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Fun presentation from David Sproxton of Aardman Animation on their creative process. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Just got out of the adult swim presentation. Now waiting for the ‘get a job’ panel to start. I’m curious how people find work in this field. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Panelists say, “don’t be a jerk”. Always good advice. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: It’s too sticky today. Yuck. And I still haven’t managed to leave early enough this morning. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Editing my sleepy blog post from this morning. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Missing the Portland animators screening because I’m so so tired. I wish everyone’s work was online. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Wondering if anyone is showing up for podcast hotel. (via Twitter / Audrey)
Audrey: Aha, mobile version is much better. (via Twitter / Audrey)
